Davido Replaces Himself With The No. 1 Song in the Country For Consecutive Weeks, This Week "The Best" Replaces "Holy Ground"

"The Best" replaces "Holy Ground" at No. 1 after the former replaced "FEM" making Davido the first artiste to replace themselves at No. 1

TurnTable Top 50 launched on the November 9, 2020 and since then the chart has seen four different No. 1s in the four weeks of the chart. Wizkid’s “Ginger” featuring Burna Boy started at No. 1 on the first issue of the chart.

It was replaced by Davido’s “FEM” on the chart dated November 16. Davido has since replaced himself twice at No. 1 with different songs in consecutive weeks.

TurnTable Top 50 combines radio airplay audience impression (as reported by Radiomonitor/MPS), TV airplay audience impression (as reported by Radiomonitor/MPS) and streaming in Nigeria.

“Holy Ground” featuring Nicki Minaj debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated November 23, following the release of Davido’s A Better Time. This made Davido the first artiste to replace themselves at the top of the chart.

This week, “The Best” featuring Mayorkun ascends to the top after debuting at No. 2 last week. In the process, Davido has become the only artiste to replace themselves at No. 1 with different songs in successive weeks.

“The Best” also leads both the Top Airplay Chart (radio) and Top Streaming Chart (streaming), which is Davido’s record-breaking third leader on radio chart and record-breaking fourth leader on Top Streaming Chart.

The artiste has topped the radio chart with “Betty Butter” for two weeks (also with Mayorkun) and “FEM” for nine weeks. He has previously led the streaming chart with “Betty Butter” for one week, “FEM” for three weeks and “Holy Ground” with Nicki Minaj for one week.

He breaks a tie with Rema as the artiste with most No. 1s on radio chart (“Woman” and “Ginger Me” for Rema) and a tie with Omah Lay as the artiste with most No. 1s on streaming chart (“Bad Influence,” “PAMI,” and “Infinity” for Omah Lay).
