As “Forever” tops Triller Chart Nigeria, the song also saw an increase in activity across other platforms

Gyakie’s “Forever” rise to the top of Triller Chart is nothing short of impressive.

The song debuted at No. 7 on Top Triller Nigeria on the chart dated December 23, before gradually moving to the top and knocking a handful of strong songs in its path – including four former Triller Chart No. 1s in Omah Lay’s “Godly,” Rexxie & Mohbad’s “KPK (Ko Por Ke),” Mayorkun’s “Your Body” and Dj Kaywise & Phyno’s “High Way.”

This makes her the first female artiste to have a No. 1 song on the chart, which comes two weeks after she surpassed Tiwa Savage’s “Koroba” peak for highest charting song by a female artiste on Triller Chart (“Forever” moved to No. 3 while “Koroba” peaked at No. 4)

Gyakie makes history

She is the second Ghanaian to top any chart published by TurnTable Charts, after Shatta Wale who led the TV Top Songs with “ALREADY” in September 2020. Speaking of “ALREADY,” the song was the only No. 1 with a female artiste on any of the charts published by TurnTable Charts until Tems’ “Damages” topped the Top Airplay Chart for one week in December 2020. Gyakie becomes the third female artiste overall to hit No. 1 on any of the charts published by TurnTable Charts.

Accordingly, “Forever’s” popularity is moving to other platforms in Nigeria; it debuts at No. 52 on Boomplay Top Songs this week; the song starts at No. 100 on YouTube NG Top Songs; and peaked at No. 59 on Apple Music Daily Top Songs.

It would be interesting to see if “Forever” makes a debut on the TurnTable Top 50, the biggest chart in the country that combines radio, TV and streaming. This would, of course, depend on how much airplay the song gets on radio and TV across Nigeria. But one thing is safe to say, Nigerians love Gyakie’s “Forever.”
