The music industry thrives on fresh voices and innovative sounds, yet aspiring artists often struggle to break through the noise. Tobi Mohammed's BlockParty series addresses this challenge head-on by providing a vital launchpad for emerging talents.

Founded in 2018 by Tobi Mohammed, the BlockParty Series has evolved into a premier platform for amplifying and showcasing the talents of creatives, ranging from singers to DJs and hype- men. Through its expanding franchise of events, including the Mainland BlockParty, Island BlockParty, Capital BlockParty, Garden BlockParty, Premier BlockParty, Gold BlockParty, Oringo BlockParty, Premiere BlockParty, and a BlockParty pop-up at Afro Nation, the series has become a catalyst for established music talents to expand their fan base and for emerging artists to gain exposure.

The impact of the BlockParty Series on emerging talent is evident in projects like The Saturn EP; the Confluence Project – which featured Ladipoe, BOJ, Naeto C, Fave & more; and CAPS LOCK. These projects have served as sonic launchpads and foundations for acts like Victony, Fave, Reeplay, OdumoduBlvck, and others, enabling them to establish themselves in youth culture and beyond. For others like BNXN and even Tems, the opportunity provided by the BlockParty stages through the next gen segments provided a platform to be seen and appreciated by thousands of young fun lovers and leading industry tastemakers.

With a deep understanding and appreciation of diverse youth cultures, every BlockParty event offers an immersive experience that resonates with attendees, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Beyond its musical endeavours, the BlockParty series is committed to making a positive impact in the communities it serves. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, the ‘BLOCKPARTY IS LOVE FOUNDATION,’ launched in 2022, the initiative aims to give back to host communities. The foundation's inaugural initiative in 2022 provided a

$1,000 education grant to support university students with tuition, accommodation, and textbooks. This initiative was announced during the February Edition of Mainland BlockParty, highlighting the series' dedication to supporting education and empowering future leaders.

As the BlockParty series continues to grow and evolve, it remains steadfast in its mission to nurture new talent, celebrate youth culture, promote cross-cultural connections, and ultimately, make the world one big block.
