Tekno Shares New Single “Matter” from Upcoming Album ‘Where Did Love Go?’

Tekno continues the rollout for his forthcoming album ‘Where Did Love Go?’ with the release of “Matter,” a smooth, mid-tempo record built around romance, loyalty, and carefree connection.
Released via emPawa Africa, the self-produced single leans into usual rhythmic simplicity that have long defined Tekno’s sound. Warm, groove-led, and intentionally uncomplicated, “Matter” captures the feeling of two people locked into their own world, unaffected by outside noise.
At the centre of “Matter” is a simple message; standing beside someone completely. Tekno moves effortlessly between affection and confidence, blending pidgin, slang, and melody into a record that is easy to connect with. Sonically, “Matter” sits comfortably between AfroPop and melodic Afrobeats, layering soft percussion, subtle bounce, and chant-like repetition. The production, handled by Tekno himself, reinforces the artist’s hands-on role across the ‘Where Did Love Go?’ album, where he shapes much of the project’s sonic identity directly.
As the latest release from ‘Where Did Love Go?’ album, “Matter” continues to build the album’s arc, following earlier singles “Bamboo” and “Press Button” while offering a more reflective and relationship-driven layer to the project.
“Matter” is now available on all major streaming platforms. STREAM HERE!
