Dave’s “Raindance” Was One of H1 2026’s Biggest Songs

When Dave returns to Lagos this October for his first headline concerts in Nigeria, with shows scheduled for October 16 and 17 at the National Theatre, he will be arriving with a song that has already spent much of the past year becoming familiar to Nigerian listeners.

His 2x Platinum-certified “Raindance,” a collaboration with Tems, has spent 32 weeks on TurnTable’s Official Nigeria Top 100 Singles Chart, peaking at No. 7 after debuting at No. 10. The peak was reached with a total of 34 million on-demand streams in Nigeria.

But its story in Nigeria extends beyond streaming. “Raindance” was the ninth biggest song in the country in Q1 2026, when it recorded 14.7 million on-demand streams and 489 million radio impressions. And by the end of the first half of the year, it had become the seventh most-heard song on Nigerian radio, with 718 million radio impressions.

That radio performance is particularly notable because it shows how the song continued to travel beyond its initial release period. Rather than disappearing after its early chart run, “Raindance” kept finding listeners across one of the most important ways Nigerians consume music.

Released in October 2025 as part of Dave’s ‘The Boy Who Played the Harp,’ the song also became the album’s biggest performer on the Nigerian singles chart. Its No. 7 peak placed it ahead of the project’s other entries, all of which also made the Official Singles Chart.

And while The Boy Who Played the Harp shows will introduce the British-Nigerian rapper to a live Nigerian audience, “Raindance” has already spent months building an audience for him through the charts, streams and radio.
