Asake's record-shattering debut year continues

“Terminator” debuts at No. 1 on the YouTube Nigeria Top Songs chart with 1.11 million views in its first week. It is now one of the three songs to record over 1 million views on YouTube (based on views from Nigeria only) in history. It joins Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran’s “Peru” and Kizz Daniel & Tekno’s “Buga (Lo Lo Lo)” as the only songs to achieve this feat.

“Peru” holds the record for the biggest views on the platform in a week – 1.24 million views during the week of December 24 – 30, 2021; boosted by the presence of Ed Sheeran on the song.

Kizz Daniel’s “Buga” is the only song to record at least 1 million views in multiple weeks. It achieved the feat in four different weeks; starting on the week of May 13 – 19, 2022 with 1.04 million views; 1**.14 million views** during the week of May 20 – 26, 2022; 1.10 million views during the week of June 17 – 23, 2022 following the arrival of its official video; and 1.14 million views during the week of June 24 – 30, 2022.

Asake’s “Terminator” has already set record streams on different streams on different platforms in its first week – further cementing the artiste’s run as one of the best ever in modern Nigerian music history.

It is now looking to debut at No. 1 on the TurnTable Nigeria Top 100 – becoming Asake’s fifth overall No. 1 in Nigeria. The Top 100 will be revealed tomorrow, Monday August 27, 2022.
