Omah Lay Stays at the Top of Streaming Chart

Bad Influence leads the chart for a third week.

The song records 1.31 million equivalent streams to remain at the top of the chart for a third consecutive week.

Fireboy’s ‘Eli’ debuts with 1.11 million equivalent streams to launch at No. 2 on the Top Streaming Chart. The artiste also lands another debut entry on Reminisce’s ‘Ogaranya’ which starts at No. 29.

Let’s rundown the top ten of the Top Streaming Chart, which blends the weekly streaming numbers of songs on the three major freemium streaming platform in the country. The full chart dated August 4, 2020 was revealed yesterday.

TurnTable Charts employs a point per play value system for factoring streams from Audiomack, Boomplay and YouTube NG into the chart; full point per value is employed for Boomplay and YouTube NG streams, 4/5 point per value of total streams from Audiomack is used in the ranking of all songs by Nigerian artistes, and a tier-system point per value for songs by artistes from other African countries.

Omah Lay’s ‘Bad Influence’ has led the chart for three consecutive weeks posting at least 1 million equivalent streams in every week; the song also posted 1.55 million equivalent streams on the chart dated July 14 where it debuted at No. 2.

Eli

Fireboy DML’s ‘Eli’ becomes the first song to debut in the top ten of TurnTable Top Streaming Chart, as it records 1.11 million equivalent streams to start at No. 2.

During the tracking week, ‘Eli’ debuts at No. 3 on Boomplay NG, No. 8 on Audiomack and No. 26 on YouTube NG. The song is expected to rise in equivalent streams following the release of its official video on July 31.

Omah Lay’s ‘You’ stays at its No. 3 peak with 1.07 million equivalent streams while Mayorkun’s former No. 1 ‘Betty Butter’ featuring Davido slides 2-4 after recording 1.01 million equivalent streams during the tracking week. ‘Lo Lo’ moves one spot to No. 5, making Omah Lay the first artiste to record 3 top five entries in a week.

Eli

Zinoleesky’s ‘Mapariwo’ falls 4-6 after recording 863,000 equivalent streams during the tracking week; Rema’s ‘Woman’ which peaked at No. 3 moves 5-7 after recording 858,000 equivalent streams; Omah Lay’s ‘Damn’ is down one spot to No. 8 with 843,000 equivalent streams.

Rounding out the top ten is Naira Marley’s ‘As E Dey Go’ which slides 8-9 with 729,000 streams and Simi’s ‘Duduke’ at No. 10 with 704,000 streams.

Just outside the top ten is Victor AD’s ‘Prayer Request’ featuring Patoranking which debuts at No. 17 with 518,000 streams. The song debuts at No. 3 on YouTube NG, No. 15 on Boomplay NG and No. 24 on Audiomack.
