The SoundCity MVP Awards returned to Lagos at the Eko Hotel & Suites and the winner’s roll call was dominated by top artistes from Nigeria.
Burna Boy took home the award for Artiste of the Year for his remarkable year that included the release of ‘Love, Damini’ album and spurned the global hit “Last Last.”
For his incredible breakout year, Asake took home the award for Best Male MVP while his close collaborators, Magicsticks and TG Omori took home Producer of the Year and Director of the Year respectively (the latter won for “Bandana” video).
Other major winners included Kizz Daniel & Tekno’s “Buga (Lo Lo Lo)” which won Song of the Year. The song also ended as the No. 1 Song of 2022 in Nigeria on the TurnTable Year-End Charts.
Jonzing World artistes Ruger and Rema also won Best New Artiste and Digital Artiste of the Year. Pheelz & BNXN took home the award for Best Collaboration for “Finesse.”
