Will Asake’s “2:30” make it five weeks at No. 1 or will Rema get his first song to spend multiple weeks at No. 1. on the singles chart in Nigeria?

According to projections building on TMDA/Radiomonitor, Rema’s “Charm” and Asake’s “2:30” are in a tight race for No. 1 on next week’s Nigeria Top 100 (for chart week of May 12 – May 18).

Current leader “2:30” has logged four weeks at the summit of the chart, becoming Asake’s longest charting single at No. 1 as a lead artiste. “Charm” debuted at No. 1 on last week’s Top 100, becoming Rema’s first No. 1 as a lead artiste and second overall. If the one of the songs ranks at No. 1 next week, this means that both songs would have topped the Official Nigeria Top 100 in four successive weeks.

“2:30” is projected to tally 2.30 million on-demand streams and 65 million in radio reach while “Charm” holds a slight lead on both streaming and airplay with one day of tracking left.

Following a packed New Music Friday on May 12, a number of new releases will be looking to make a splash on next week’s chart; BNXN’s “Pray” and Kizz Daniel’s “Shu-Peru” are looking for top ten rungs. Additionally, Teni’s “No Days Off” and Lil Durk’s “All My Life” with J. Cole are projected to make top 30 debuts – the latter is aiming to be the most-streamed song on premium streaming platforms (Apple Music + premium Spotify) in Nigeria during the tracking week.

Next week’s chart will be revealed on Monday, May 22 while the albums chart will be published on Tuesday, May 23.
