Darey vs Patoranking for No. 1 song on radio

Patoranking’s lead single off his newly released album, Three, appears primed to challenge for a No. 1 debut on next week’s Top Airplay Chart (chart dated August 31).

The song, released on July 30, is aiming to dethrone Darey’s “Jah Guide Me,” which debuted at No. 1 on this week’s chart.

TurnTable Top Airplay Chart combines airplay on radio across Nigeria using a weight-system methodology with data provided by Radiomonitor.

Abule

According to projections based on building data on Radiomonitor, the biggest radio tracking service in Africa and official airplay provider for European countries such as the United Kingdom, “Abule” could draw the highest number of spins during the tracking week. The song is drawing the most spins on Soundcity 98.5 FM, Cool FM Lagos, The Beat FM 99.9 FM and Max FM Abuja. It has been added to 37 radio stations during the tracking week.

Darey

“Jah Guide Me” became the first song to debut at No. 1 on the chart dated August 24, with the song drawing the most spins on Cool FM Lagos, Cool FM Kano, Wazobia FM Abuja and Wazobia Lagos. During the current tracking week, the song was dropped by four radio stations, which could potentially result into lesser total spins compared to last week - making for a tight race at the top of the chart.

If “Abule” debuts at No. 1, it would become the second song to do so in as many weeks on the chart. “Abule” peaked at No. 3 on TurnTable Top Streaming Chart on the chart dated August 18; Top Streaming Chart combines Audiomack, Boomplay and YouTube weekly numbers. The chart is scheduled to be revealed Monday, August 31 in what would be the ninth issue of Top Airplay Chart.
