October 24, 2024 Lagos, Nigeria —  Oladapo returns with “Expensive,” a hard-hitting fusion of punk, electric house, and Afro rhythm that flips the idea of luxury upside down. The track is bold, chaotic, and full of swagger, an anthem for everyone who knows how to look rich on a budget and still own the room.

Built on distorted synths, heavy percussion, and Oladapo’s unfiltered delivery, “Expensive” is both satire and statement. It captures the spirit of Nigeria’s “make it work”  culture where innovation meets humor, and creative resilience becomes the real currency.

“It’s wild, loud, and tongue-in-cheek,” Oladapo says.

Building on the momentum of his BOLDER project, “Expensive” deepens Oladapo’s creative narrative, an artiste rooted in tradition yet fearless in reinvention. The single introduces “Faroq,” one of several alter egos Oladapo will embody throughout the BOLDER series. Faroq is the rawest version of Oladapo,  a rebellious street force who moves with instinct, defiance, and zero care for convention. Through Faroq and the characters yet to be revealed, Oladapo unfolds a layered sonic universe where each persona explores a different shade of identity, emotion, and truth.

The rollout pushes this energy further, powered by a campaign that celebrates “crazy, funny, extreme cheap alternatives”, from DIY luxury hacks to broke-but-fly challenges. Fans are encouraged to recreate their own “Expensive” moments, turning everyday items into over-the-top flexes across TikTok and Instagram.
