On the Official Nigeria Top 100, “Akonuche” debuted at No. 85 before making a catapulted trajectory to No. 10 in its second week on the chart. Now peaking at No. 8 on its third week with a total of 2.4 million on-demand streams, it is the beginning of a successful music path for Priesst. This is the artiste’s first-ever entry on the top 10 as well as on the chart. The rise of the song is recognised as its first week streams were 360,000 on-demand streams. Packing almost a 3X increase, the second week recorded 1.01 million streams, and the third, 1.03 million on-demand streams.
This performance has earned Priesst’s manager, Femisoro Ajayi, the executive of the week title. Femisoro is a talent manager, an entertainment consultant, and an entrepreneur.
In this exclusive interview with TurnTable, Femisoro speaks extensively on the making of “Akonuche” & the remix, his time meeting and working with Priesst, and what the future holds for the artiste.
TTC: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do in the music and creative space?
Femisoro: I am Femisoro Ajayi, a talent manager, an entertainment consultant, and an entrepreneur with well over a decade of expertise in talent management, brand strategy, and the music industry.
TTC: How did you first encounter Priesst, and what influenced your decision to start working with him? How has the working relationship been so far?
Femisoro: I met Priesst after Falz (whom I also manage) agreed to feature on one of his songs. On listening to him, I could immediately tell of his talent and potential. After meeting up with him, I realized that he’s a great kid. We connected instantly and most importantly creatively and have gone on to build a great work and personal relationship.
TTC: You’re our Executive of the Week following Priesst’s “Akonuche” reaching a new peak at No. 8 on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart, with three weeks spent on the chart. How did the release come about?
Femisoro: “Akonuche” is a divine song. That’s how I see it. We had other plans and we were on a different path, but one day in late December 2025 changed everything.
Priesst recorded this song, posted a snippet on TikTok, went to bed, and we woke up to madness. The numbers on the post were insane, the reshares were mental, and this was just overnight. The release was done in a few days after the snippet had gone viral. Shoutout to the good people at Azuri for allowing me to push them on this.
TTC: The “Akonuche” remix featuring Victony and Shoday generated a lot of anticipation, especially with Victony being referenced in the original song. How did the remix come together, and what was the creative process like across all parties?
Femisoro: After the song took off, we knew we needed Victony on it, we had tried to get him even before the original dropped. He eventually sent his verse. Shoutout to Shoday who came through with a fire verse in just about 48 hours after a team member suggested and reached out to him.
Big shoutout to Victony and Shoday!
TTC: From your perspective as Priesst’s manager, what factors have contributed most to his career’s rise?
Femisoro: Consistency! Consistency! Consistency! Even when he’s at his lowest, he doesn’t stop. He’s constantly recording, constantly shooting content, and he never gives up. It was always a matter of when for him and not if. I'm glad he’s finally getting the attention he deserves.
TTC: You currently work across several music and creative businesses, including Blue Ace Entertainment, Bahd Guys Entertainment, and film company House21 Studios. What are the biggest challenges of managing across multiple creative sectors and how do you navigate them?
Femisoro: Challenges are a life constant and there’s no avoiding them, it doesn't matter what sector you find yourself in.
The biggest ones I can currently think of would be overlapping timelines and trying to balance work and personal life. However, I have a solid support system to help me through it and I’m grateful for that.
TTC: Specifically on “Akonuche,” what role did you personally play in contributing to the success of this record?
Femisoro: From leveraging my network, Creative Direction, Marketing, Style Direction, managing production logistics, seeking out opportunities amongst other things. My role is to support the artiste's vision and bring it to life and I can confidently say that I didn’t just play a big part on this particular record, I always play a big part in everything that concerns my talents.
TTC: What’s next? What can fans expect from the next phase of Priesst’s career?
Femisoro: Exciting times ahead! Expect more boundary-pushing music, strategic collaborations, and a deeper dive into Priesst' unique sound. We're gearing up for a fresh wave of releases, live shows, and creative partnerships. Stay tuned for global expansion and unforgettable experiences.
We have been building for some time now, and the foundation is solid! Now that we have more eyes, ears, and attention, watch us build this to the skies.
