"Damages" is the most-heard song on radio this week

“Damages” goes No. 1 on the Top Airplay Chart after posting 33 million radio airplay audience impression. It replaces nine-week No. 1 “FEM” at the top of radio chart. “Damages” debuted at No. 6 on the chart dated October 5.

It spent the next three weeks in different parts of the top ten before moving to No. 2 on the chart dated November 2. It spent three weeks in the runner up spot before rising to the summit this week.

In the process, Tems becomes the first female artiste to lead the Top Airplay Chart. She is also the first Nigerian artiste to have a No. 1 song on any of the charts published by TurnTable Charts, and the second overall (Beyoncé is the only other female artiste to lead any of the charts published after spending a week at No. 1 on TV Top Songs with “ALREADY” featuring Shatta Wale & Major Lazer. "Damages" is the first solo No. 1 song by a female artiste on any of the charts published by TurnTable Charts.

“Damages” has peaked at No. 6 on the all-genre TurnTable Top 50 which combines radio airplay, TV airplay and streaming in Nigeria. It is the first single off her debut EP, Broken Ears.

Interestingly, “Damages” surpassed “Try Me” as Tems’ most-played song on radio in 2020 this week. The former ranks as No. 45 on the list of most-played songs on radio while the latter occupies No. 48. The full list will be revealed at the end of the year as part of the first issue of TurnTable Magazine.
