Fireboy DML & Asake’s ‘Bandana’ Logs a Fifth Week at No. 1, Tiwa Savage & Zinoleesky Debut in the Top Ten with ‘Jaiye Forever’

Chart rankings on the Nigeria Top 100 are based on weighted formula incorporating audio and video streams within Nigeria, as well as airplay on radio and satellite TV in the country. It is the first and only standard music chart in Nigeria, providing comprehensive music activity including the official No. 1 song in Nigeria

‘Bandana’ tallied 67.7 million in radio reach (No. 1 on radio, up 5.5%) and 4.48 million streams (No. 1 on streaming, up 0.1%). It is now Fireboy DML’s longest No. 1 single in Nigeria – surpassing the four-week reign of ‘Peru.’ ‘Bandana’ is also Asake’s longest of his four No. 1 singles (‘Omo Ope,’ ‘Sungba’ and ‘PBUY’).

‘Bandana’ will be looking to stay at No. 1 for another week on next week’s Top 100; as it looks to fend off competition from Asake’s ‘Terminator.’ The former is leading airplay 2:1 while the latter is leading streaming 2:1.

Biggest No. 1 Ever on the Nigeria Top 100

‘Bandana’ is the biggest No. 1 song ever on the Top 100 – tallying the most chart points across streaming and airplay. It is important to note that the defunct TurnTable Top 50 and the Nigeria Top 100 make use of different methodologies; the former combined freemium streaming only with airplay while the latter combines all streaming using a multi-metric weighted system and all airplay.

Carterefe & Berri-Tiga’s ‘Machala’ stays at No. 2 for a third consecutive week. The song debuted at the position three weeks ago. Burna Boy’s ‘It’s Plenty’ is steady at its No. 3 peak while ‘Common Person,’ also by Burna Boy repeats at its No. 4 high for another week.

Crayon’s ‘Ijo (Laba Laba)’ jumps from No. 9 to a new peak of No. 5 on the Nigeria Top 100. The song tallied 68.5 million in airplay impressions and 1.24 million streams. With its 68.5 million airplay impressions, ‘Ijo (Laba Laba)’ is the biggest song on the Nigerian airwaves (radio +TV) despite being at No. 3 on radio and TV charts respectively.

Asake’s former No. 1 ‘Peace Be Unto You (PBUY)’ rebounds 8-6 while Kizz Daniel’s ‘Buga (Lo Lo Lo)’ holds at No. 7 on the Top 100.

Rounding out this week’s top ten; Zinoleesky & Tiwa Savage’s ‘Jaiye Foreign’ debuts at No. 8 with 43.5 million in radio reach (No. 6 on radio) and 1.71 million streams (No. 9 on streaming); Ruger’s ‘Girlfriend’ ascends 11-9 after peaking at No. 7 on the Top 100; while Burna Boy’s ‘For My Hand’ with Ed Sheeran falls 5-10 after debuting and peaking at No. 1 for one week.

Outside the top ten, Peruzzi’s ‘Hypertension’ debuts at No. 43; LAX’s ‘Para’ launches at No. 62, and Chris Brown’s ‘Under the Influence’ starts at No. 90 on the Top 100 – the track is co-written by KDDO and Davido.
