Ayra Starr’s “Rush” is leading the Race for No. 1 on next week’s Nigeria Top 100

“Rush” is the lead single off the deluxe version of the artiste’s debut album, 19 & Dangerous. The deluxe is due to arrive on the Friday, October 14, 2022.

The song is now leading the race for No. 1 on next week’s Nigeria Top 100 having taken a lead on all digital platforms in four days of tracking (Friday, September 23 – Monday, September 26). The tracking week ends on Thursday.

“Rush” is looking to end the week with over 4 million Nigerian streams and over 45 million in radio reach. It is leading three Asake singles in “Organise,” “Terminator” and “Joha.”

With the arrival of its video yesterday (Mon, Oct 26), “Rush” will get an additional boost on YouTube as well as some airplay on satellite TV stations across the country before the end of the tracking week.

If “Rush” moves to summit on next week’s chart, Ayra Starr would become the first female artiste to record multiple No. 1 entries in Nigeria – “Bloody Samaritan” peaked at No. 1 for a week in 2021. 19 & Dangerous would also become only the fifth album to have multiple No. 1 entries in the country.

“Rush” at No. 1 would also end a 26-week streak of EMPIRE having the No. 1 song in the country. Next week’s chart will be revealed on Monday, October 3, 2022.
