In line with the aim to develop a credible charting system for Nigeria, TurnTable Charts is discontinuing the weekly TurnTable Top 50 chart.

This decision is prompted by the efforts of the publication to provide better reflective metrics of measuring trends, popularity and performance of songs in the country.

The last weekly update on the TurnTable Top 50 had Bad Boy Timz’s ‘MJ (Remix)’ at No. 1, ending Omah Lay’s ‘Bad Influence’ three-week rule in the process. The Top 50 ran for 10 weeks between April 28, 2020 and July 1, 2020.

Instead, TurnTable Charts will launch three charts in the month of July, the first of which is the TurnTable Official Top Airplay Chart. The Official Top Airplay Chart is a standard weekly chart in Nigeria for songs on radio. More details on TurnTable Official Top Airplay Chart coming soon.
